So simple to make and so delicious! Chocolate mousse that’s silky, rich, creamy and everyone’s favorite dessert. Serve it on its own or dress it up with coconut whipped topping and berries. Even the most dedicated traditional chocolate mousse lovers won’t be able to tell it’s made with tofu! This is a treat you can enjoy without feeling guilt over the excess animal fat and calories found in traditional chocolate mousse (eggs, eggs, more eggs, heavy cream……).
This heavenly dessert comes to life in your blender or food processor quickly and is a great recipe to make with kids.

Creamy dark chocolate mousse made with silken tofu is easy to make, and non-vegans will find it hard to believe this dessert is vegan!
Ingredients
- 16 ounces silken tofu
- 4 ounces dark vegan chocolate (60%-70% cacao content) or vegan dark chocolate chips
- 4 tablespoons pure maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Vegan coconut whipped cream and assorted berries for garnish
Instructions
Drain the tofu in a colander over a bowl for about 10 minutes. Make sure the tofu is at room temperature.
Melt the chocolate (or chocolate chips) in a microwave or over low heat. Let the melted chocolate come to room temperature so it will stay creamy when added to the tofu.
Put the tofu, vanilla extract, and maple syrup in a high powered blender or food processor. Process until very smooth. Add the melted chocolate and blend for at least 30 seconds or more until the mixture is creamy and evenly colored. Put the mousse in a container and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to firm up the mousse.
Serve in individual glasses or bowls, plain or garnished with vegan coconut whipped cream and berries.
